Caity Who?

Today I went to a school in Detroit and got to give them blankets,sleeping bags,and sleep kits. The whole school practically,88 to 90 percent they said, lived below the poverty line. It was so heartwarming to see the smiles on these kids faces and how excited they were to get these simple things. Most of them have never had a blanket of their own. Some of them made me shed a tear with the things they said. I felt so grateful to have the things I have watching them get excited over a little book and blanket. They were so appreciative and loving. Some gave us hugs and almost all of them said thank you. Things like this make me feel so good and appreciate everything I have in life. These kids are living in rough neighborhoods and their families are struggling every day. I was so happy to make their days. This little kid hugged my friend and said “you know what that’s for?” and then said, “for giving me the best day ever.” my heart melted. They were also precious and adorable I wanted to take one home with me haha.
